Biometric notice and retention policy

Flavi turns your selfie and voice sample into face geometry and a voiceprint so it can put you into the clips you choose, and into clips made by people you choose to share your avatar with or license it to. You can stop sharing at any time.

• What we collect: face geometry from your selfie and a short head-turn video, and a voiceprint from your voice recording.
• Why: to make the videos you and the people you share with ask for, to check the selfie is live, to check that the face in every video matches the avatar's owner, and to give free credits once per person.
• Free credits: your first live selfie is compared with the faces of accounts that already got free credits. If it matches one, this account gets no free credits; you can still buy credits and make videos, and you can ask us to check. For this we keep a face record of every account that got free credits.
• Who processes it for us: Supabase (storage), our face and safety check provider, ElevenLabs (voice), fal and ByteDance Seedance (video), Google Gemini and Replicate (scene analysis). None of them may sell it.
• We never sell, lease, trade or otherwise profit from your face or voice data, and we never use it for advertising.
• Sharing: you decide who can use your avatar. You can see every video made with it and revoke access at any time; videos already made stay with the people who made them.
• Retention: the head-turn video is deleted right after the check. A voice clone exists only while a clip is being made, unless you license your avatar as a creator, in which case it is kept until you stop licensing. Your selfie and voice sample are deleted when you delete the avatar or your account, after 365 days without use, and in every case no later than 3 years after your last use of Flavi. The free-credit face record is kept after you delete your account, so a new account can't claim free credits again, and is deleted 365 days after the account is deleted, and in every case no later than 3 years after the selfie.

Retention and destruction schedule

We destroy biometric data when the purpose it was collected for is done, and never later than 3 years after your last use of Flavi. In practice: the head-turn video is deleted right after the check; each voice clone is deleted when its clip is prepared; your selfie and voice sample are deleted within a day of deleting the avatar or your account, and automatically after 1 year without use. Face thumbnails from your clips go after 7 days.

Changing your mind
